Nusa Dua, Bali - Banking waspadai increase in problematic loans (NPL / Non-Performing Loan) for the construction sector, particularly for contractors government projects.
Bank Mandiri President Director Agus Martowardojo said, the budget disbursement for the projects the government has not been smooth, the contractor started the problem in credit payments to the bank.
"Contracting is one of the industry that need to diwaspadai-NPL because it tended to increase, but if government spending will be healthy," he said during the Annual Meeting of the events to the ADB-42 in the Hotel Westin, Nusa Dua Bali, Sunday (3 / 5 / 2009).
"Yesterday is one area that we need urgent waspadai that contractors-contractors most of whom began encountering difficulties. But if the government spending have a greater they will be better quality,"
he said.
Agus said the government guarantee the project because the dibangunnya funds directly from the state budget, but disbursement delays budget make it difficult for contractors.
"If the stimulus to the real sector through the right departments, now spend the money if the bank does not think I need insurance because they can directly biayai contractors who do the realization of the government," he explained.
Meanwhile on the bank credit growth stagnant in the quarter I-2009, Agus said credit demand in the quarter I-2009 is down compared to the position of the end of 2008.
"This is the beginning year is usually quite slow, but also the response of demand down in 2009 compared to 2008," accuse him.
